Aspergillus. H &E stain. They have septate hyphae,[3] but these are not always apparent, and in such cases they may be mistaken for Zygomycota. Aspergillus hyphae tend to have dichotomous branching that is progressive and primarily at acute angles of about 45°

Blastomyces dermatidis - causes Blastomycosis. Modified Wright's stain (Diff Quick) shows broad based budding yeast.

Cryptococcus. India ink preparation shows thick capsule, budding yeasts.

Rhizopus mucor, the causative agent of mucormycosis. Shows broad hyphae WITHOUT septae.

Histoplasma. Note the small budding yeast forms. This is a modified Wright's stain (Diff Quick).

Coccidioidomycosis. This is a giant spherule of coccidioidomycosis.

Paracoccidioidomycosis. This shows the "pilot wheel" yeast. This is a silver stain.
