    deep breathing and coughing

    • placing the patient in different positions to clear secretions in different segments of the lungs
    • each position should be done for 5 - 15 minutes
    • use a nebulizer to help make secretions thinner
    • ususally done in the AM 45 - 60 min before breakfast
