  1. Name the two major body regions
    • Axial- body
    • Appendicular- limbs
  2. Name the Anterior regions
  3. Name the Posterior regions
  4. Name and distinguish the Dorsal and Ventral body cavities
  5. What is the anatomical position
    • Standing erect with feet slightly apart
    • Palms forward
    • Thumbs lateral to the body
  6. Describe the directional terms
    Anterior (ventral) vs. Posterior (Dorsal)- Front vs. back

    Superior (cranial) vs. Inferior (caudal-towards the tail) - Above vs. below

    Superficial vs. Deep- outside vs. inside

    Medial vs. Lateral- towars the center vs away from the center

    Proximal vs. distal- towards the start of the limb vs. away from the limb
  7. Name the body planes and sections
    Frontal/coronal- divides between front (anterior) and back (posterior)

    Sagittal/Midsaggital/Median- divides between right and left halves

    Transverse- divides between superior and inferior (cross sections)

  8. Name the abdomino pelvic quadrants
  9. Name the regions of the Abdominal Area

    • Parietal- covers the cavity
    • Visceral- covers the organs

    • -parietal pericardium and visceral pericardium
