PPA - The Effect of Temperature Changes on Reaction Rate
The aim of this experiment was to find out if temperature had an affect on the rate of the reaction between oxalic acid and acidified potassium permanganate solution. State two factors that had to be kept constant in the experiments
The volume of all the reactants
The concentration of all the reactants
How was the rate of reaction determined?
By measuring the time taken for the solution to turn from purple to colourless
Why did the beaker used in each experiment have to be dry?
So it would not change the concentration of all the other reactants
Suggest why it might be difficult to get an accurate reaction time if the experiment was carried out at room temperature
As it would be difficult to measure the time taken for the solution to change colour because it is a gradual colour change
