    when we dissolve less solute than needed to form a saturated solution

    when it is possible to form solutions that contain a greater amount of solute than that needed to form a saturated solution

    when pairs of liguids that mix in all proportions
  9. immiscible
    when liquids do not dissolve in one another ie. gasoline and water

    becomes zero

    • Sg= solubility of gas ( molarity )
    • K=constant that is different for each ( mol/L-atm)

    • PA= vapor pressure of solvent above solution
    • XA= mole fraction of solvent

  17. Osmosis
    the movement of solvent molecules through a semipermeable membrame from a less concentrated to a more concentrated solution
  18. hypotonic
    if one solution is lover in osmotic pressure in respect to more concentrated solution
  19. hypertonic
    the solution with concentrated solution in osmotic pressure
  20. colloids
    suspensions of particles larger than individual ions or molecules but too smarll to be settled out by gravity
  21. tyndall effect
    the scatter of light caused by a colloidal suspension
  22. Change Tb=kbm
    • ChangeTb= Tb-Tbo boiling point elevation
    • Kb=constant of solvent
    • m = molality of solute ie. nacl + h20 m= 2
