- 1) Abdominal - vertical fold, 2 cm to right of belly button
- 2) Triceps - vertical fold, midway between acromion and olecronan process
- 3) Biceps - vertical fold over belly of the bicep muscle
- 4) Pectorial - Diagonal fold, one half (men) one third (women) between nipple and axillary
- 5) Medial Calf - Vertical fold, at the maximum circumference of the calf on the midline of its medial border
- 6) Midaxillary - Vertical fold, on the midaxillary line at the level of the xiphoid process of the sternum
- 7) Subscapular - Diagonal fold, 1-2 cm below the inferior angle of the scapula
- 8) Suprailiac - Diagonal fold, in line with the natural angle of the iliac crest taken in the anterior axillary line immediately superior to the iliac crest

Procedure for taking body fat
- 1) all measurements made on right side with subject standing upright
- 2) Caliper should be placed directly on skin's surface, 1 cm away from fingers, half way between crest and base, perpindicular to skinfold
- 3) Pinch should be maintained while reading caliper
- 4) Wait 1-2 seconds (not longer) before reading caliper
- 5) Take duplicate measurements and start over if they are not within 1-2mm
- 6) Rotate through sites and allow time for skin to regain normal texture and thickness
