  1. Anatomical Body Position
    Standing erect, facing forward, feet together, arms hanging at sides, palms facing forward
  2. MIDSAGITTAL (median)
    divides body symmetrically into LEFT and RIGHT halves
  3. PARASAGITTAL (sagittal)
    divides body ASYMMETRICALLY into left and right sections
  4. CORONAL(frontal)
    • divides body ASYMMETRICALLY into anterior and posterior sections
    • (front and back sections)
  5. TRANSVERSE (horizontal)
    divides body HORIZONTALLY into superior and inferior sections
  6. SAGITTAL
    the lengthwise plane that divides the body into right and left portions
