  1. Astrocyte
    Star-Shaped glial cell with numerous radiating projections that cling to neurons and capillaries
  2. Ependymal Cell
    Glial cell that lines the central cavities of the brain/spinal cord where they form a permeable barrier between cerebrospinal fluid and tissue fluid in the cells of the Central Nervous System (CNS)
  3. Oligodendrocyte
    Glial cells that line up along the neuron fibers in the CNS and produce insulating coverings called myelin sheaths
  4. Microglial cell
    Spider-like phagocytes that dispose of bacteria and other debris
  5. Satellite cell
    Flattened cell in the Peripheral Nervous System (PNS) that surrounds the neuron cell body within a ganglion
  6. Schwann cells
    Cell that surrounds and forms the myelin sheath around the larger nerve fiber in the Peripheral nervous system.
