  1. Short-acting anti-cholinergic
    Ipatropium (Atrovent)
  2. Long Acting anti-cholinergic
    Tiotropium
  3. MoA
    • Block cholinergic induced bronchoconstriction leading to:
    • bronchodilation
    • reduced mucociliary clearance
    • blocks hypersecretion
  4. Use
    • Treatment of COPD (more potent than β agonists but can be used w/them)
    • Not for acute episodes of bronchospasm
    • Maybe used to treat asthma
  5. SEs 1
    • Dry mouth
    • Acute worsening of narrow angle glaucoma
    • Exacerbation of Myasthenia Gravis
    • Mydriasis
  6. Contraindication
    Hypersensitivity rxns
