    • -Seizures (Status epilepticus)
    • -Sedation prior to painful procedures
    • -Anxiety
  4. Contraindications
    • -Hypersensitivity
    • -Acute narrow-angle glaucoma
    • -Coma
    • -Shock
    • -Acute alcohol intoxication
  5. Precautions
    • -Renal or Hepatic impairment
    • -Myasthenia gravis
    • -COPD
  6. Side Effects
    • -Anterograde amnesia
    • -Sedation
    • -Hypertension OR Hypotension
    • -Blurred vision
    • -N/V
    • -Confusion
  7. Interactions
    • -Other CNS depressants
    • -Alcohol
    • -Cimetidine
  8. Dosage
    ADULT

    1-2 mg slow IVP or IM q 5 mins, max 8mg

    PEDI

    .1 mg/kg slow IVP or IM, max single does 2 mg. May repeat once after 5 mins
  9. Pharmacokinetics
    • Onset: 1-5 mins IV, 5-10 mins IM
    • Half-Life: 10-20 hours
