    Desigend to make it difficult to detect or analyze
  2. Campanion Virus
    Attaches itself to legitimate programs and creates a program with a different filename extension, may update registry to point to the infected file
  3. Macro Virus
    Word, Excel etc. exploits enhancements made to many application programs
  4. Multipartite Virus
    Attacks in multiple ways, boot sector, executable files, destroy app files
  5. Phage Virus
    modifies and alters other programs and databases. Infects all of these files, must restore programs
  6. Polymorphic Virus
    Changes form to avoid detection. Mutations
  7. Retrovirus
    Attacks or bypasses the antivirus software, anti-antivirus, could destroy virus definition database file.
  8. Stealth Virus
    Attempts to avoid detection by masking itself, may attach to the boot sector, may report different size toavoid detection, make switch files during virus scan
