  1. Rectus Femoris
    *Only quadraceps muscle to cross the hip

    O: AIIS

    I: Patellar tendon

    A: Hip flexion, knee extension

    Innervation: Femoral n.
  2. Vastus Intermedius
    O: Anterior and Lateral femoral shaft

    I: Patellar tendon

    A: Knee extension

    Innervation: Femoral n.
  3. Vastus Lateralis
    O: Linea aspera on posterior femur

    I: Patellar tendon

    A: Knee extension

    Innervation: Femoral n.
  4. Vastus Medialis Oblique
    O: Linea aspera on posterior femur

    I: Patellar tendon

    A: Knee extension

    Innervation: Femoral n.
  5. Biceps Femoris
    O: Long head = ischial tuberosity; short head = linea aspera

    I: Head of fibula; posterolateral tibia

    A: Long = hip extension, both = knee flexion

    Innervation: Long = tibial sciatic n. ; short = peroneal sciatic n.
  6. Semimembranosus
    O: Ischial tuberosity

    I: Posterior Medial Tibial Condyle

    A: Hip extension, knee flexion

    Innervation: tibial sciatic n.
  7. Semitendinosus
    O: Ischial tuberosity

    I: Anterior Medial Tibial Shaft

    A: Hip extension, knee flexion

    Innervation: tibial sciatic n.
  8. Gracilis
    O: Anterior pubis

    I: Midal Tibial

    A: Hip adduction

    Innervation: Obdurator n.
  9. Adductor Magnus
    O: Ischial tuberosity, pubic ramus

    I: Linea aspera of posterior femur, adductor tubercle

    A: hip adduction, anterior flexion of hip, posterior extention of hip

    Innervation: Obdurator n. and Sciatic n.
  10. Adductor Longus
    O: Anterior pubis

    I: Linea aspera on posterior femur

    A: Hip adduction, flexion, and external rotation

    Innervation: Obdurator n.

    *Forms medial border of femoral triangle
