    -Stimulates ovulation in the female and scretion of sex hormones in both females and males

    -Regulates fluid volume by stimulating reabsorption of water in the kidneys
  7. What is oxytocin?
    -Stimulates ejection of milk into mammary ducts and contraction of uterine smooth muscle

    -From the thyroid, affects metabolic rate, carb and lipid metabolism, growth and development, and nervous system activity.

    -Produced by C cells of the thyroid in response to high circulating calcium levels

    -Regulates the blood level of calcium

    -Regulates blood glucose concentration, inhibits inflammatory action, supports the stress response

    -Maintains extracellular volume
  13. What is insulin?
    -Regulates the etabolism and storage of carbs, fats and proteins
  14. What is glucagon?
    -Increases blood glucose level by gluconeogenesis and ketogenesis
