    Heart
  4. Neuromuscular Junction
Synapse between a motor neuron axon and muscle fiber
  5. Fast-twitch Fibers
Muscle fibers that produce fast contractions but fatigue rapidly
  6. Slow-twitch Fibers
Less vigorous contractions and no fatigue
  7. Stretch Reflex
Caused by a stretch, it does not produce a stretch
  8. Muscle Spindle
Receptor parallel to the muscle that responds to a stretch
  9. Golgi tendon organs
    • Respond to increases in muscle tension
    • Located in the tendons at opposite ends of a musclce
    • Act as a brake against contractions
