The flashcards below were created by user rleighn25 on FreezingBlue Flashcards.

  1. Rho D (+)
    Has Rho D
  2. Rho D (-)
    Doesn't have the Rho D
  3. Universal recipient
  4. Universal donor
  5. Normal Heartrate
    60-80 bpm
  6. Bradycardia
    less than 60 bpm
  7. Tachycardia
    greater than 100 bpm
  8. Lub
    • AV Valves closing
    • Immediately following QRS
  9. Dub
    • Semilunar valves closing
    • Just before the T wave
  10. Systolic
    • 120
    • contraction signifies pressure in the heart during contraction
  11. Diastolic
    • 80
    • relaxation- signifies pressure in the heart during relxation
  12. Flow of blood
    • Body--> R. Atrium--> Tricuspid--> R. Ventricle--> Pulmonary---> Lungs
    • Lungs--> L. Atrium--> Bicuspid--> L. Ventricle--> Semilunar---> Body
  13. Electrical activity of the Heart
SA node (Sinoatrial)--> AV(atrioventricular) node--> Bundle of His--> Purkinje Fibers
  14. Restrictive pulmonary disorders
    • Occurs at the level of the alveoli which become fibrotic (hardened)
    • Ability to breathe normally is difficult
    • Force of air out is unaffected--> results in Lower VC, but normal Forced Expiratory Volume
  15. Obstructive pulmonary disorders
    • Occurs at the level of the bronchioles due to bronchoconstriction/mucous secretions
    • Ability to breathe normally is normal however ability to force air out is affected--> normal VC but lower Forced Expiratory Volume
  16. Respiratory acidosis
    • Hypoventilation
    • Increase CO2
    • Increase in plasma HCO3-
    • Decrease in pH--more acidic
  17. Respiratory alkalosis
    • Hyperventilation
    • Decrease in CO2
    • Increase in plasma HCO3
    • Decrease in pH--> more acidic
