  13. Electrical activity of the Heart
    SA node (Sinoatrial)--> AV(atrioventricular) node--> Bundle of His--> Purkinje Fibers
  14. Restrictive pulmonary disorders
    • Occurs at the level of the alveoli which become fibrotic (hardened)
    • Ability to breathe normally is difficult
    • Force of air out is unaffected--> results in Lower VC, but normal Forced Expiratory Volume
  15. Obstructive pulmonary disorders
    • Occurs at the level of the bronchioles due to bronchoconstriction/mucous secretions
    • Ability to breathe normally is normal however ability to force air out is affected--> normal VC but lower Forced Expiratory Volume
  16. Respiratory acidosis
    • Hypoventilation
    • Increase CO2
    • Increase in plasma HCO3-
    • Decrease in pH--more acidic
  17. Respiratory alkalosis
    • Hyperventilation
    • Decrease in CO2
    • Increase in plasma HCO3
    • Decrease in pH--> more acidic
