    part of the experiment that is actually testing the independent variable
  9. conclusion
    the explanation of whether your hypothesis was correct or not
  10. validity of results
    this occurs because all of the variables were kept constant except the independent variable

    the number of members actually being tested in an experiment
  12. property
    any characteristic of matter
  13. mean
    the averag of a group of numbers
  14. data table
    any measurable observations that are taken are recorded on this
  15. graduated cylinder
    a scientific instrument used to precisely measure the volume of a liquid
  16. balance
    scientific instrument used to measure mass
  17. spring scale
    scientific instrument used to measure weight
  18. hand lens
    magnifying glass, used to view small objects
  19. microscope
    scientific instrument used to view tiny objects
  20. telescope
    a scientific instrument used to view objects from a distance
