    greek and latin
  2. root:
    main part
  3. prefix:
    part at the beginning
  4. suffix:
    part at the end
  5. combining vowel:
    added to make pronunciation easier (usually an 'o')
  6. combining form:
    the combination of a word root and a combing vowel
  7. PLURALS: words ending in "a"...
    retain the "a" & add "e"

    ex- vertebra/vertebrae
  8. PLURALS: words ending in "is"...
    drop the "is" & add "es"

    ex- diagnosis/diagnoses
